JOY SYLVIE STAGE

JOY SYLVIE STAGE

The Joy Sylvie Stage is all about words, beats, banter and vibe.

This year’s stage will bring a fresh eclectic feel to the afternoon with internationally acclaimed Dublin poet, Stephen James Smith headlining the spoken word. He will be joined by Emmet O’Brien, Bubba Shakespeare, Jim Crickard, Rosalin Blue with Stan Notte as MC.

A regular at all the major festivals and one of Ireland’s music pioneers, Red FM DJ Stevie G will be spinning the decks, bringing a sound-system of hip-hop, soul and afro-beats during the afternoon, whilst Jinx Lennon, one of Ireland’s most iconic underground artists, deals with social issues through his honest, gritty, funny and up-lifting punk folk commentary based songs.

Returning for its second round, Ringo: Music Bingo, the world’s greatest Comedy-Music-Intro-Game-Not-Quiz, will host a round of family movie theme tunes as well as some classic pop songs.

The Joy Sylvie Stage also welcomes this year, the Cork Headway Choir. A service for adults with Acquired Brain Injury, the choir has been a positive part of rehabilitation, improving memory, mood, speech and simply the love of it
