Emma O’Grady is an Inis Oírr-based theatre artist, film maker and production manager making work under the name ‘Up Up Up’. There is a documentary & research aspect to her work. She makes theatre & film inspired by true events, real lives & shared histories. Her first play “What Good is Looking Well When You’re Rotten on the Inside?” based on tapes recorded by my civil-servant grandfather one month before his death was produced to critical acclaim in 2017. In 2023 she co-wrote “The Local” with Clare Monnelly & Medb Lambert (Asylum & Kilkenny Arts Festival) & premiered her new play for dogs & humans “Dogs Already Know How To Love”. Emma is a co-founder of Apartheid-Free Arts and is committed to the cultural boycott of Israel.
